Hot Stone Massage
SACRED HOT STONE MASSAGE
A treatment designed to relieve stiffness and soreness and to restore energy and to balance the mind, body, and spirit. During a session, heated stones are glided and laid upon oiled muscles. Velvet and textured stones gently grip the muscle sheaths, giving way for deep tissue release. Finger-shaped stones press lightly into marma points to clear blockages. Cool quartzite stones are smoothed along the face to firm and increase circulation. This treatment integrates the use of stones with human hands to create a soothing and healing experience. 1 Hour $95.00 or 1 1/2 Hour $125.00
STONE REFLEXOLOGY
The feet are a mirror of the body. They connect us to Mother Earth. Stone reflexology incorporates the art of stone healing by laying heated stones along the chakras while fully clothed. Heated stones are placed between each toe and pointed stones are used as a tool for deep tissue work. Clients reach a new level of relaxation. Custom blended aromatherapy oils are used in this treatment.
1 Hour $85.00
STONE FACIAL THERAPY
Using contrasting hydrotherapy, hot and cold stones are glided along the face to firm skin and increase circulation. The arms, shoulders, neck, and feet are massaged with warm stones. The traditional Ayurvedic marma point facial sequence is incorporated, with finger like stones, rejuvenating the eyes and skin (sometimes referred to as an acupuncture face lift). Aromatic mists and anti-oxidant oils are used along with the stones and compassionate human touch. This treatment is refreshing and invigorating.

Cupping
Massage Cupping is the application of globes or plastic cups to the surface of the skin with suction that mimics the hand movements of massage therapy. The suction is created by a vacuum pump. The suction between the cup and the skin causes the skin to lift slightly from the muscles. This allows impurities and cellular waste products in the muscles and fascia (connective tissue) to be drawn towards the surface and expelled through the skin's pores. This also releases muscle tightness and tension.
Massage Cupping is used to drain excess fluids and toxins and bring circulation and blood flow to stagnant tissues and muscles. Sometimes the suction is very light to cleanse and encourage healthy lymphatic flow; sometimes the suction is stronger to loosen scar tissue or breakdown cellulite. Massage Cupping stimulates the peripheral nervous system and because it has such calming and sedating effects, clients with high blood pressure and stress-related ailments have found this therapy very beneficial even during their first session. Massage Cupping is recommended for all conditions for which a patient would seek massage therapy.
So, what can you expect in a Massage Cupping Session?
Sessions begin like a massage therapy appointment. On the massage table the condition of your muscles and tissues will be assessed like the beginning of a regular massage before applying the cups. When the cup is set on the skin there is a sensation of pulling. This sensation is somewhat strong, but not uncomfortable. When the "Sliding Cup" technique is used, the sensation is a sliding up and down the area being cupped, much like a Massage Therapist doing light skin rolling. The skin has been oiled so the cup is able to glide smoothly without pulling on the skin. Muscles are worked with the edge of the cup. Kneading and vibration are incorporated using the cups. With the "Standing Cups" technique, cups are placed on the skin and not moved. The cup will actually remain stationary on a specific area that has a trigger point or where there is a contraction or muscle spasm. Standing cups can be left in place for just a few minutes or up to 20 minutes.
Cups can be used almost anywhere on the body - along the spine, on shoulders and shoulder blades, on hips, low backs, and over joints to relieve inflammation and soreness. The cups range in size from 1 to 6 inches in diameter, sometimes even larger. One cup or many cups may be used during a session depending on the need. Massage Cupping appointments are usually 1 hr.
After Massage Cupping you may notice redness or a purple discoloration of the skin in the area which was treated. We call this a "Cup Kiss." It is a normal side effect of cupping and is considered to be a desirable result by the therapist. The cup kiss should not be painful, despite looking much like a bruise, and should disappear within a few days. Because the pores are opened fully the body is more susceptible to pathogenic influences after this procedure. You should keep your body covered and protected from wind and sunlight for 24 hours. Please make sure that you don't have any special events that will require an open back dress, etc. because you may be left with cup kisses!
How much does a Massage Cupping cost? 60 min. session: $ 80.00 or a 30 min. Session: $ 45.00top
Reflexology
Reflexologists view the feet and hands as a mirror image of the body. The physical act of applying specific pressures using thumb, finger, and hand techniques may result in stress reduction causing a physiological change in the body. Reflexology relaxes tension, normalizes gland and organ function, and improves circulation. Pain reduction and pain elimination, such as in the neck, shoulders, lower back and jaw have been reported. $65.00 1 Hour.top
Lymphatic Drainage
Within us all there is a silent system working to keep us healthy- the lymph system. Without it our bodies would swell up like balloons, swamping our cells with stagnant fluid. The lymph system's impact is so far reaching that many don't even realize that minor aches and pains and low energy or susceptibility to colds and flu may be due to a sluggish lymph system and a compromised immune system.
Lymphatic drainage has been used since the 1930s to promote health and aid recovery from certain illnesses. Lymphatic drainage is now widely used in European hospitals and clinics. It is becoming better known in the U.S. due to its benefits for breast cancer survivors. Also used to promote wellness, this technique can prevent or reduce fluid retention, enhance the removal of toxins from body tissues, and support the immune system.
THE THREE MAIN ACTIONS OF LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE ARE: 1) Stimulation of body fluid circulation. It activates lymph function and lymph circulation. It indirectly stimulates the blood circulation of the body. 2) Stimulation of the immune system: the passage of lymph in the lymph nodes stimulates the immune system. The stimulation of lymph circulation activates antigen/antibody presentation and immune reactions. 3) Nervous system: stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system (relaxation effect). The constant stimulation of the C-fiber mechanoreceptors has inhibitory effects (anti-pain-action).
WHAT IS THE LYMPHATIC SYSTEM?
Our body is built on a flow system: nutrients and oxygen in, by-products, carbon dioxide and toxins out. The lymphatic system is the body's cleansing (sewage) system. Next to the blood system, it is our most important system. It is literally our "immune system." It rids the body of toxins, bacteria, dead blood cells, old protein clusters, and fats. When the normal flow of the lymphatic system is functional, the body is in balance. When this balance is disrupted and lymphatic wastes accumulate, problems begin to occur. These problems include cancers (especially breast cancer), arthritis, cellulite, edema (puffiness), lupus and other autoimmune diseases.
"MLDT is one of the most important techniques for maintaining wellness, removing toxins from the system, and reversing disease symptoms." - Dr. Karyn Mitchell
THE EFFECT OF FATS
Fats in dairy, hydrogenated vegetable fats, and fatty meats can slow the flow of the lymphatic waste system forcing the body to absorb these fats and toxins resulting in obesity, cellulite and disease.
LYMPH & THE IMMUNE SYSTEM
The lymphatic system is our immune system. Lymph passes though the lymphatic nodes which are linked to the immune system. White blood cells are created in the many lymph nodes throughout the body and flow throughout the lymph system together with lymphocytes-cells and B-cells. These cells defend our bodies against unwanted viruses and bacteria.
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure if one's lymph system is clogged with fats and toxins that their immune system is slow, weak and receptive to disease and organ or system failure. One very effective way to keep your lymph system healthy is through periodic lymphatic massage.
SYMPTOMS OF A CONGESTED LYMPHATIC SYSTEM
Swollen glands, with which most of us are familiar, are symptoms of blocked lymph. Other examples include:
* Allergies * Prostatitis * Chronic Sinusitis * Heart Disease * Eczema & other skin conditions
* Loss of energy * Fibrocystic Disease * Chronic fatigue * Repetitive parasite infections
* MS * Edema * Lupus erythematosis * Inflammation * High blood pressure * Viral infections
* Puffy eyes * Bacterial infections * Cancer * Arthritis * Obesity and more!
